Selecting and establishing a permanent memorial for a family member or loved one not only satisfies an immediate need; it also fulfills the need to preserve our heritage. Memorials are stepping stones to the past and to the future. They help us to remember, and to be remembered.
The St. James' Columbarium, located on the original church property on Church Street in historic downtown Leesburg, is a group of individual niches which contain the cremated remains of the departed. The quiet design of this columbarium invites solitary contemplation as well as the gathering of families and friends for prayer and remembrance. Owned by St. James', the columbarium will be maintained in perpetuity.
After years of planning and hard work, the St. James' Columbarium, located on Church Street, is finally complete. The Columbarium was dedicated on St. James' Day, Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Members of St. James' and their immediate family are entitled to purchase niches as individual burial places. The purchase of a niche offers families the benefit of making arrangements without the pressure of time.
Interested? Here's the next step: Fill out the Application of Intent, and return it to St. James' together with a $100 commitment payment which will be applied towards the purchase of your niche. You will then receive a niche agreement and the inurnment permit, both which need to be signed and returned to St. James'.
Please contact the Church Office at (703)777-1124 for futher information or assistance through this process.
