It has become a custom at St. James' to invite parishioners of all ages to contribute to our annual "Lent Day by Day" devotional. In years past, parishioners from ages 6 to 97 have offered spiritual reflections in writing and in art for each of the 40 days in the liturgical season of Lent. We invite you to consider offering a reflection of your own, for inclusion in our 2010 edition of "Lent Day by Day."
Simply select a card from the bulletin board located in the Narthex. The cards outline a theme for each week, as well as offer questions to guide your reflection, whether written or artistic. Once all submissions have been received, they will be reviewed by the clergy.
Parishioners will be offered the opportunity to make their selections through Sunday, February 7. Devotions must be completed and submitted by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 8. The "Lent Day by Day 2010" devotional will be available on Sunday, February 14, the last Sunday before Ash Wednesday, when Lent begins.
Detailed "Guidelines for 'Lent Day by Day 2010'" are found here. Should you have any questions, please contact Rev. Kate or Pastor Mary at (703)777-1124.
