Lent Day by Day 2008
Scriptural Reflections by Parishioners of St. James' Episcopal Church, Ages 6-97
Holy Week and the Death of Jesus: Mark 156:33-39
Day 40: Holy Saturday, March 22
OH, LORD MY GOD, in our times of trouble, trials and tribulations, when we are down and feeling forsaken, help us to remember Jesus and His time upon the cross and ask for His help. Give us the faith and understanding to always trust in the Lord and to believe and know in our hearts that he truly is the Son of God.
We know that if we ask Our Heavenly Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, He will give us the strength and understanding to overcome all our burdens. For when our time comes to meet our Lord, our eyes will truly be opened, as if for the very first time; and, we shall see before us Our Lord, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, the Son of God.
