St. James' Episcopal Church
Nourished by Word and Sacrament, we are sent out to do the work God has given us to do, to love and serve God as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord

Team NOLA

Four years after Katrina, the costliest and one of the most deadly hurricanes in U.S. history, the city of New Orleans still has much cleaning up and rebuilding to do. Working in tandem with the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, more than 30 St. James' parishioners made the first mission trip to New Orleans in October 2006.

Since then, six more mission trips have been taken to help the residents of that once proud and beautiful city restore their homes and lives to some sense of normalcy. Initially, the work involved emptying and gutting houses that were flooded; the focus is now on rebuilding homes that have been deemed reparable.

There is still much work to be done; the needs remain great. Work is available for skilled and unskilled workers.
