The members of the Altar Guild prepare the Altar for each service held during the week at St. James’ Episcopal Church. The role of the Altar Guild is as the stagehands and set designers for Our Lord’s table.
Altar Guild members for the following week meet each Saturday morning to prepare the communion, arrange flowers, post hymns, polish the brass and general cleaning. As a group we are responsible for cleaning all the linens used for the services during the week.
An additional ministry for the Altar Guild members is the delivering of the service flowers from the Altar to the sick, shut-ins, couples celebrating a birth, a special anniversary, or to those who have lost loved ones.
We have super team captains who are responsible on alternating weeks to see that all goes well. If you would like to join our team please contact the church office for more information.
