Beginning next week:
“Exploring the Episcopal Church”
Have you become a member of St. James’ after attending the “Discovering St. James?” class? If so, you may want to take the next step.
¨ If you are an adult (age 18 years or older) and are baptized but have never been confirmed (i.e., made an adult, public affirmation of your faith), and you want to be confirmed as an Episcopalian, OR ¨ If you have been baptized and confirmed in another denomination but you want to be received into the Episcopal Church, OR ¨ If you are not already a baptized and confirmed Episcopalian but wish to reaffirm the commitment you made earlier in life, THEN ¨ “Exploring the Episcopal Church” is for you.
This three-part class is taught by Fr. John, Rev. Kate, and Pastor Mary, and prepares you (if you so choose) to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church at the time of the Bishop’s annual visit to St. James’. This year, Bishop David Jones will be here on Sunday, May 18, at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services.
“Exploring the Episcopal Church” is offered once each year, and the next class will be held on Sunday, April 27, and Sunday, May 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Old School Building. A light lunch will be provided, and childcare will be available. The last class (which includes a rehearsal for the Bishop’s Visit) will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 Noon. Childcare will be available.
