Reading isn't easy for everyone. In fact, reading can be hard work! Reading involves more than being able to read the words on a page, and knowing how to read for meaning is essential to reading success. St. James' has answered a call to meet a literacy need in the Leesburg community by developing a literacy program for low income rising third graders who have been identified as falling below in grade level reading. We'd like to invite you to be a part of our mission.
When children don't learn to read, they become adults who don't have adequate reading skills to fill out job applications, read food labels or read stories to their children. They often lack the literacy skills to find and keep decent jobs, support their children's education, or participate actively in civic life.

"But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown." Matthew 13:22-24
