Ministries

We believe God is calling St. James' to live out this mission:

"Nourished by Word and Sacrament, we are sent out to do the work God has given us to do, to love and serve God as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord."

Properly prepared and motivated, the Episcopal Church in general, and St. James' in particular, is uniquely poised to accomplish this mission. In order to do this, we have set for ourselves broad goals in each of our major ministry areas. These goals provide a clear, energizing mandate for the lay and clergy leadership.

Worship… reminds us of, and nourishes us for, our primary purpose in life: to praise, reverence, and serve God.

Outreach… sends every member out to do the work God has given him or her to do, proactively reaching out in service, extending Christ's love to the wider community, nation, and the world.

Pastoral Care… seeks and serves Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves and offering spiritual and temporal support to those in need.

Christian Education and Formation… encourages our own members' life-long growth in Christian faith and service, while bringing in, preparing, and sending out faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord.

Parish Life… Fellowship events bring our parish family together through a wide variety of social events and activities planned throughout the year, including the Burning of the Greens, the Bishop's Visit and Reception, and the St. James' Day Picnic.
