Meet our YOUP leaders
Jon and Kristin Coate
We are both Loudoun county natives and have lived in Leesburg since 2015. We met and began dating when we were students at Loudoun Valley High School. Kristin graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2014, and Jon graduated from William & Mary a year later. We got married in 2015 and first got involved in youth ministry in 2016. In 2021, we joined St. James, and are very happy to call it our church home.
Youth group was very special to us when we were in high school – it was where we became friends and formed many of our fondest memories. We are very eager to get involved in helping to pass those experiences on to the next generation. We are both very passionate about making church feel like home for teens. Our hobbies include trying new foods, hiking, and Renaissance Faire.
